       Social media affects our behavior and lifestyle. This huge impact can cause us to shop more and start adopting new habits. Those habits can develop and become either positive or negative. Marketing is done mainly through social media and websites. I can say that 90% of my personal purchases are online. My online shopping habit started originally during Covid and now I have learned the easiest and fastest ways to shop. EWOM is used a lot to help pick specific products such as: Skin care products, or hair styling products. I watch the Kardashians on Hulu and follow their individual pages on Instagram. I tend to buy from their makeup and clothes brands because I love watching their advertisements and even rating videos on YouTube. Social media and broadcast media can share many similarities and can be different at the same time. I personally use those two types of media very differently. Starting with the personal use of social media I tend to use when interacting with others online, and for entertaining purposes. Social media such as Instagram help me follow my favorite fitness influencers as well as my fashion influencers. My use for social media is higher than my use for broadcast. The apps are easy to access through the phone and the use of media is more common for my generation.      I use broadcast media whenever I listen to the radio on my way to work. I get to know the latest news in my city and stay updated with the most recent music. I listen to my favorite artist which is BadBunny and my favorite show which is (The JO Show).  Connecting what I learned in this course to my career and degree goals I can say that social media plays a huge role in developing my communication skills especially when it comes to virtual communication. For many years I have applied to many job and different position in the retail and retail banking. Social media was the first link between me and the recruiters. Banking jobs are more challenging to get, therefore, I started looking for a way to simplify the process of applying and that is how I learned about LinkedIn. It allowed me to create a full personal page of myself presenting my strengths, experiences, and degrees earned.        Part (1):  Social media gives a huge space for people to expand their opinions on everything and have the full freedom of commenting on other's lives. As much as there is space for freedom there should be some guidelines and ethics to run social media. An example of those ethics can be maintaining the privacy of others information and not sharing them without their permission or claiming others work as your own work without giving them the credit for it. The ethics state that there should no plagiarism practiced when using websites. I believe that social media should be used correctly in order to benefit from it otherwise it can be a huge danger for the society.  Flicker was definitely a new thing for me to explore and start using. This class is helping me becoming very organized when communicating with family and friends through social media and aware of how much time I spend on daily basis just for entertainment reasons. I commented on my pier in class Essal's learning journals and assignments before, and I would definitely say that the readings we do in this class made aware of the power social media can give us and have over us as users or consumers.
